We decided to try something new this year: a one-hour tutorial session on Fridays. Think of it as recitation-style, but not exactly a recitation. The goal is to step back from the individual labs and think about the bigger picture, helping you build better projects and develop skills that will be useful in future internships and jobs.
With AI handling more basic coding nowadays, a lot of the real value comes from understanding what your code actually turns into: how designs are synthesized into physical circuits, how they map onto an FPGA, and how your design choices affect performance. These sessions will be interactive, with less coding and more hands-on reasoning about hardware. Expect some pen and paper, we'll try to brainstorm ideas together.
